Destination Guide

Aruba offers employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, casinos, retail, watersports, transportation, and professional services. Tourism is the main economic driver, so hospitality experience and English skills are highly valued; Dutch, Spanish, or Papiamento can provide an advantage. The island has a warm, dry climate, beautiful beaches, strong outdoor culture, and a relaxed but internationally minded lifestyle. Living costs, especially rent and imported goods, can be high, and accommodation should be arranged carefully before moving. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate residence authorization before starting employment; requirements vary by nationality and contract, so applicants should confirm details with the employer and Aruba authorities. New arrivals should budget for transportation, housing deposits, health coverage, and local registration. Aruba is welcoming and safe, but adapting to island logistics and a smaller job market may take time.
