Company Info

The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort is a luxury island resort operated under Westin Hotels & Resorts, part of Marriott International. Located in the Baa Atoll, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the resort focuses on wellness, restorative travel, refined dining, and personalized guest experiences. Its facilities typically include restaurants and bars, villas, spa and fitness services, water activities, and recreation programs. As a Marriott property, it follows international hospitality standards and provides colleagues with opportunities to work in a multicultural environment while serving guests from around the world. The resort’s remote island setting means employees generally live on property, work as part of a close-knit team, and support daily operations in a highly guest-focused luxury environment.

Destination Guide

Maldives resort islands offer opportunities in hospitality, food and beverage, housekeeping, culinary arts, marine activities, spa services, engineering, finance, and guest relations. Work is usually provided with staff accommodation, meals, uniforms, transport, and sometimes service charge or insurance. Maldivian culture blends Islamic traditions with South Asian influences; modest clothing and respectful behavior are important, especially when visiting local islands. Resort life is social but remote, with access to beaches, snorkeling, diving, fishing, and water sports, while shopping and nightlife may be limited. Foreign employees generally require an employer-sponsored Employment Approval and work visa, arranged by the hiring company before or after arrival according to immigration rules. Candidates should confirm contract terms, medical checks, passport requirements, flight arrangements, leave, gratuities, and whether benefits apply during probation before relocating.
