Destination Guide

Bahrain is a compact island country in the Arabian Gulf, with Manama as its main commercial and employment center. Hospitality, tourism, restaurants, retail, finance, construction, healthcare, and logistics provide regular job opportunities, particularly for skilled international workers. The culture blends Arab traditions with a diverse expatriate community; modest dress and respectful behavior are expected, while English is widely used in hotels and workplaces. Life is generally convenient, with modern malls, restaurants, beaches, museums, and an active social scene, although summers are extremely hot. Employers commonly sponsor work visas and residence permits, arrange medical checks, and may provide accommodation or transport, but terms should be confirmed before arrival. New employees should ensure their passport, contract, qualifications, and visa details are properly documented. Bahrain is connected to Saudi Arabia by the King Fahd Causeway and has an international airport.
