Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and resort islands such as the Perhentian and Redang islands. Common roles include kitchen steward, waiter, housekeeper, receptionist, cook, spa attendant and resort activities staff. Malaysian workplaces are multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and international influences; English is widely used in hotels, while Malay is the national language. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living to relaxed beach and island communities, with generally affordable food and transport. Kuala Lumpur is not an island, but it is a major gateway to Malaysia's resort destinations. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit or Employment Pass, and approval depends on nationality, role and government requirements. Secure a written offer before relocating, confirm accommodation and benefits, and budget for deposits, transport and medical checks.
