Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers coastal resort living, including Fujairah’s beaches and mountain scenery. Hospitality provides opportunities in kitchens, restaurants, housekeeping, front office, engineering, spa services and guest relations, particularly in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a large international population; modest dress and respectful behavior are important, especially during Ramadan. Lifestyle options range from beach activities, diving and hiking to shopping, dining and desert excursions. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, arrange medical testing and provide accommodation or a housing allowance, transport and health insurance, although benefits vary by contract. New arrivals should budget for flights, personal expenses and deposits, and verify salary, service charge, working hours, leave and accommodation details before accepting an offer. Fujairah is quieter and more relaxed than Dubai, with fewer nightlife and urban entertainment options.
