Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than a single island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are available in luxury hotels, restaurants, resorts, airlines, retail, events, and tourism. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress, respect for Islamic customs, and professional courtesy are important. Dubai offers beaches, shopping, dining, nightlife, desert activities, and excellent public transport, although living costs can be high. Most overseas employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange medical testing, Emirates ID processing, and work permits. Contracts may include accommodation or an allowance, transport, meals, health insurance, and annual flights, but benefits vary. Candidates should verify salary, service charge, accommodation, probation, leave, and visa terms before relocating.
