Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai offering particularly strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, technology and events. The culture combines modern international living with Emirati and Islamic traditions; respectful dress and behavior are expected, especially during Ramadan. Dubai’s lifestyle includes beaches, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, desert activities and excellent public transport, though housing and schooling can be expensive. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas. Employers commonly arrange a work permit, medical examination, Emirates ID and residency processing after arrival. Review the full employment package carefully for accommodation, transport, insurance, flights and gratuity. Bring attested qualifications when requested, budget for deposits and initial costs, and check local employment and visa rules before relocating.
