Destination Guide

Spain’s main island job markets are in the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands. Opportunities are strongest in tourism, hospitality, retail, transport, warehousing, delivery, healthcare and customer service; logistics jobs are supported by ports, airports and seasonal commerce. The Canary Islands offer a warmer climate and generally lower rents outside central tourist areas, while Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca have strong seasonal employment but higher housing costs. Island life is relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with distinctive local food, festivals and close community ties. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work in Spain after completing local registration requirements. Non-EU nationals normally need a Spanish work and residence permit, and employer sponsorship is not guaranteed. Applicants should confirm the exact island, shift pattern, accommodation costs, transport options and contract duration before relocating.
