Destination Guide

Spain’s main island work locations may include the Canary Islands or the Balearic Islands. Job opportunities are strongest in aviation, tourism, logistics, ports, hospitality, healthcare, construction and customer services, with aircraft maintenance concentrated around major airports. Island life offers a relaxed pace, warm weather, beaches and outdoor activities, while local culture combines Spanish traditions with distinctive regional food, festivals and languages. Living costs vary: rent can be high in tourist centres, especially Mallorca, Ibiza, Tenerife and Gran Canaria, so checking accommodation before relocating is important. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work with normal registration requirements. Non-EU applicants generally need an employer-supported work and residence permit before starting employment. A valid passport, recognised qualifications, licence documents and medical or background checks may be required. Spanish is useful for daily life, although English is common in aviation and tourism.
