Malaysia offers strong opportunities in logistics, freight forwarding, manufacturing, technology, shared services, tourism and retail. Kuala Lumpur and Selangor are major employment centers, while Penang, Johor and Port Klang are important industrial and maritime hubs. Malaysian workplace culture generally values politeness, teamwork, hierarchy and punctuality, with English commonly used in international companies. Lifestyle costs are moderate, public transport is strongest in major cities, and the country offers diverse food, beaches, rainforests and multicultural festivals. Foreign nationals normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate employment or internship pass; requirements vary by nationality, program and duration. Students should confirm whether their institution and host company can support the relevant pass. Before relocating, arrange accommodation, insurance, transport planning and proof of funds.
