Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied opportunities in logistics, shared services, manufacturing, technology, tourism, healthcare and finance. Major employment centres include Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, Penang, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak. The country’s culture blends Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences, with English commonly used in business alongside Malay. Lifestyle costs are generally moderate, although central Kuala Lumpur and popular island destinations are more expensive. Penang and Langkawi offer coastal living, while Sabah and Sarawak provide nature-focused lifestyles. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate work or internship pass sponsored or supported by the host organisation; requirements depend on nationality, programme and duration. Candidates should confirm immigration rules with DHL and Malaysian authorities before travelling. Reliable public transport is strongest in major cities, while a local driving licence or transport may be useful elsewhere.
