Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in logistics, manufacturing, technology, tourism, healthcare, finance, and shared services. Kuala Lumpur and Selangor provide the widest employment market, while Penang is strong in electronics and manufacturing, Johor in logistics and industry, and Sabah and Sarawak in tourism, energy, and natural resources. The country has a multicultural society shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in business. Lifestyle costs are moderate compared with many international cities, and residents enjoy diverse food, tropical beaches, highland retreats, and generally convenient urban transport. Malaysia is a federation of peninsular states and Borneo regions rather than one island; popular island destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Tioman, and the Perhentians. Foreign workers usually need employer sponsorship, an approved employment pass, and medical and immigration clearances. Research the relevant pass category and secure a confirmed job before relocating.
