Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in logistics, shared services, technology, finance, manufacturing, healthcare, tourism, and customer operations. Kuala Lumpur and Selangor are the main corporate hubs, while Penang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak also provide strong employment options. The country combines Malay, Chinese, Indian, and Indigenous influences, with diverse food, festivals, and generally welcoming communities. Urban life is convenient and relatively affordable, though traffic and housing costs are higher around Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia includes the peninsula and the island regions of Sabah and Sarawak on Borneo, as well as popular destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, and Tioman. Foreign professionals generally need employer-sponsored authorization, commonly an Employment Pass, before beginning work; requirements depend on salary, qualifications, and role. Relocating employees should confirm sponsorship, medical checks, tax registration, housing, schooling, and dependent-pass arrangements with DHL and Malaysian authorities.
