Destination Guide

Indonesia offers strong opportunities in software engineering, testing, fintech, e-commerce, logistics, tourism, manufacturing, education, and renewable energy. Jakarta, on Java, is the main corporate and technology hub, while Bali attracts jobs connected to tourism, hospitality, creative industries, and remote work. Java provides extensive public transport, healthcare, universities, and professional networks, though Jakarta is crowded and expensive. Bali offers a more relaxed lifestyle, beaches, and international communities but can have higher rental prices in popular areas. Indonesia’s culture values community, respect, family, and religious diversity; modest dress and local customs should be observed. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work visa or limited-stay permit before starting work. Relocation typically involves employment approval, immigration documents, health or background checks, and local registration. Learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly useful. Housing, transport, insurance, and taxation should be clarified with the employer before moving.
