Company Info

Founded in 1919, the company operates in numerous countries and employs a large international workforce, including engineers, technicians, field operators and support professionals. Halliburton is known for structured technical training and field-based career development, although many roles involve demanding schedules, travel and work at customer sites. Employees are generally expected to follow strict safety, quality and environmental procedures while delivering reliable service in challenging operational conditions.

Destination Guide

Thailand offers opportunities in energy services, tourism, logistics, manufacturing, technology and hospitality. Oilfield workers may find assignments connected with the Gulf of Thailand, often requiring travel from Bangkok or southern logistics hubs rather than living permanently on an island. Thai culture values politeness, respect for elders, calm communication and strong relationships. Island life in places such as Phuket, Koh Samui and Koh Chang is relaxed, social and outdoors-oriented, but housing, transport and healthcare can be more limited or expensive than on the mainland. Foreign employees normally need a Non-Immigrant B visa and a work permit arranged with their employer; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly provide guidance on immigration, medical checks and relocation. Learn basic Thai, secure appropriate insurance and confirm rotation schedules, accommodation, allowances and travel arrangements before moving.
