Destination Guide

Ireland offers strong opportunities in banking, financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals, consulting, and shared-service operations, with Dublin as the main international employment hub. Cork, Galway, Limerick, and Waterford also have growing business and technology sectors. Irish workplace culture is generally collaborative, informal, and communication-focused, while professional roles still require reliability and clear accountability. Lifestyle benefits include scenic coastlines, historic towns, live music, sports, and an active social culture. Dublin has excellent amenities but relatively high housing costs; regional locations can be more affordable. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can generally live and work without a visa. Non-EEA candidates usually need an employment permit, such as a Critical Skills Employment Permit where eligible, and must meet immigration requirements before starting work. Research housing, transport, taxation, healthcare, and permit rules carefully before relocating.
