Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest concentration of banking and professional opportunities. Jobs are available in commercial banking, compliance, financial technology, accounting, technology, logistics, tourism, and government-linked organizations. The culture is international, family-oriented, and influenced by Emirati, Arab, Islamic, and expatriate traditions; modest dress and respect for local customs are important. Lifestyle options range from modern city living and restaurants to beaches, desert activities, and shopping. Most foreign employees need employer-sponsored residence and work visas, while UAE nationals benefit from local employment initiatives and do not require sponsorship. Relocating typically involves arranging employment, medical checks, Emirates ID registration, housing, health insurance, and possibly school places. Living costs, particularly rent in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, can be high, so candidates should compare the full benefits package, including housing, transport, bonuses, and insurance.
