Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, wealth management, technology, logistics, healthcare and professional services. Its culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil; workplaces are generally structured, fast-paced and international. The lifestyle is convenient and safe, with efficient public transport, excellent food, shopping, parks and easy access to Southeast Asia. Housing and schooling can be expensive, so relocation budgets should be planned carefully. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, and approval depends on salary, qualifications and prevailing eligibility rules. Employers usually guide candidates through the application process. New arrivals should arrange accommodation, health insurance, banking access and tax advice, and understand that employment passes are tied to the sponsoring employer.
