Destination Guide

Taiwan offers opportunities in banking, technology, semiconductors, manufacturing, international trade, healthcare, and professional services. Taipei is the main financial and career center, while Hsinchu and Taichung are important technology and industrial hubs. The culture combines modern city life with traditional festivals, night markets, temples, and strong food traditions. Public transport is convenient, healthcare is accessible, and living costs are generally lower than in major financial centers such as Hong Kong or Singapore, although Taipei housing can be expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an Alien Resident Certificate. Eligible professionals may qualify for an Employment Gold Card, which combines work authorization and residency benefits. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules, tax obligations, health insurance requirements, and relocation support with the employer before moving.
