Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers extensive opportunities in logistics, warehousing, transport, aviation, technology, healthcare, finance and professional services. Its culture is diverse and generally values punctuality, personal responsibility and polite, direct communication, while workplaces are increasingly international. Lifestyle options range from busy cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham to coastal towns and rural areas. Living costs vary considerably, with London and the South East usually the most expensive. Most overseas workers need permission to work, commonly through a Skilled Worker visa, although eligibility depends on the occupation, salary, employer sponsorship and nationality. DHL may advertise roles with specific right-to-work requirements. Relocating involves arranging accommodation, a National Insurance number, bank account and access to healthcare. Public transport is strong in major cities, but a driving licence may be useful for sites outside urban centres.
