Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in technology, e-commerce, finance, telecommunications, consulting, tourism, manufacturing, and international business. Tokyo has the widest range of professional roles and generally the highest salaries, while Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo also have active employment markets. Japanese workplace culture values punctuality, preparation, respect, teamwork, and careful communication. Daily life is convenient, safe, and supported by excellent public transportation, though housing and living costs can be high in Tokyo. A work visa normally requires employer sponsorship and approval under an appropriate status, such as Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services or Highly Skilled Professional. Applicants should prepare educational and employment documents, secure a contract, and arrange residence registration, health insurance, and a bank account after arrival. Learning Japanese improves career prospects and makes relocation easier, even in international companies.
