Destination Guide

Japan offers opportunities in technology, telecommunications, engineering, finance, healthcare, education, tourism, and international business, with Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, and Fukuoka being major employment centers. The culture values punctuality, preparation, teamwork, and respectful communication. Daily life is safe and convenient, with excellent public transport, reliable services, varied food, and both urban and rural lifestyles. Housing and commuting costs are highest in Tokyo, while regional cities can be more affordable. Foreign professionals normally need an appropriate work visa, often sponsored by their employer; highly skilled workers may qualify for a points-based visa or faster permanent-residency route. Before relocating, arrange a contract, residence registration, health insurance, pension enrollment, and a bank account. Learning practical Japanese greatly improves workplace integration, even when English is used professionally.
