Destination Guide

Japan offers strong employment opportunities in technology, software engineering, digital marketing, finance, consulting, tourism, education, manufacturing, and customer support. Tokyo provides the widest range of international and corporate roles, while Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo offer attractive alternatives with lower living costs in some areas. Japanese workplace culture values punctuality, reliability, teamwork, and respectful communication, although international companies may operate more flexibly. Daily life is convenient, safe, and supported by excellent public transport, but housing and commuting in Tokyo can be expensive. Foreign employees generally need a work visa sponsored by an employer, such as an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa. Relocating usually involves arranging residence registration, health insurance, a bank account, housing, and possibly a residence card. Learning basic Japanese is highly beneficial for daily life and long-term integration.
