Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in technology, telecommunications, e-commerce, finance, manufacturing, tourism, education, and international business. Tokyo has the largest concentration of professional roles, while Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo offer growing alternatives. Workplace culture values punctuality, preparation, teamwork, respect, and careful communication, although global companies may operate more flexibly. Daily life is safe and convenient, with excellent public transport, healthcare, food, and public services. Housing and commuting costs are highest in Tokyo, and learning Japanese can significantly improve both work and social experiences. Foreign professionals usually need an appropriate work visa, commonly sponsored by their employer; the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa is widely used for business and marketing roles. Applicants should prepare academic and employment documents, confirm relocation support, and arrange residence registration, health insurance, and a bank account after arrival.
