Destination Guide

Although the United Arab Emirates is not an island, Dubai is a coastal city with popular island destinations such as Bluewaters Island and Palm Jumeirah. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, restaurants, construction, healthcare, technology, and finance offer many employment opportunities. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress and respect for local customs are important, especially during Ramadan. Dubai provides a modern lifestyle with beaches, shopping, dining, entertainment, and excellent transport, though housing and summer temperatures can be challenging. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas. Employers commonly arrange medical testing, Emirates ID processing, and sometimes accommodation or transport. Before relocating, candidates should confirm salary, service charge, working hours, accommodation, annual leave, insurance, flights, and visa sponsorship in writing. Dubai is generally safe, but living costs vary considerably by area and lifestyle.
