Destination Guide

Qatar is a peninsula rather than an island, with Doha as its main employment and lifestyle hub. Hospitality opportunities are available in luxury hotels, restaurants, resorts, event venues and tourism businesses, particularly for candidates with international experience. The culture is welcoming but conservative: modest dress, respectful behavior and sensitivity to Islamic customs are important, especially during Ramadan. Life in Doha is modern and convenient, with malls, beaches, museums, desert activities and a large international community. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are comfortable and popular for outdoor activities. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored work and residence visas; the employer normally arranges medical checks, contracts and residency formalities. Before relocating, confirm accommodation, transport, health insurance, working hours, benefits and whether family sponsorship is available.
