Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago with varied opportunities across Java, Bali, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Lombok. Jakarta, on Java, offers the broadest range of hotel, business, technology, retail, and service jobs, while Bali is especially strong in tourism, resorts, restaurants, wellness, and events. Indonesian culture values courtesy, community, religious diversity, and respectful communication; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is very useful. Urban life can be fast and traffic-heavy, while island destinations offer a more relaxed lifestyle, beaches, nature, and outdoor activities. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work visa and work permit, with the company handling much of the application process. A valid passport, employment contract, relevant qualifications, and medical or immigration documentation may be required. Candidates should confirm current rules with the Indonesian embassy and employer before relocating. Housing, healthcare, transport, taxes, and insurance should also be discussed in advance.
