Destination Guide

Indonesia offers varied hospitality opportunities across Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumatra and other islands. Jakarta, on Java, has strong demand for hotel, restaurant, events, retail and corporate-service staff, while Bali and Lombok are especially active in resorts, wellness, tourism and guest services. Life is generally social and community-oriented, with diverse food, religious traditions and a relaxed approach to leisure, although Jakarta is busy and traffic can be challenging. Living costs vary considerably; Jakarta and Bali’s main tourist areas are usually more expensive than smaller cities. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate limited-stay visa, so employment should be arranged before arrival. Indonesian language skills are valuable, and candidates should check current immigration rules, accommodation, insurance and local employment conditions before relocating.
