Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, offering strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, retail, events, and finance. Ras Al Khaimah has a more relaxed lifestyle than Dubai, with beaches, mountains, desert activities, and a growing resort industry. The culture combines traditional Emirati values with a highly international population; modest dress, respect for religion, and courtesy in public places are important. Most expatriate hospitality roles are sponsored by the employer, who normally arranges the work permit, residence visa, medical checks, and Emirates ID process. Confirm whether accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, flights, and gratuity are included before accepting an offer. Living costs can be moderate in Ras Al Khaimah, although personal transport and leisure expenses should be budgeted. English is widely used in hospitality, while Arabic is beneficial.
