Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a highly international lifestyle across seven emirates, especially Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, finance, technology, and construction provide varied employment opportunities. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Arabic hospitality, and a large expatriate community; modest dress and respect for Islamic customs are advisable, particularly during Ramadan. Dubai offers beaches, desert activities, restaurants, shopping, nightlife, and excellent public transport, although housing, schooling, and leisure can be expensive. Most foreign employees need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, who normally arranges entry permission, medical checks, Emirates ID, and residency formalities. Candidates should verify contract terms, insurance, accommodation or allowance, gratuity, and relocation support. A valid passport, attested qualifications where required, and police clearance may be requested. UAE summers are extremely hot, while winters are pleasant and popular for outdoor activities.
