Destination Guide

Seychelles offers opportunities in hospitality, engineering, construction, marine tourism, food and beverage, healthcare, education and environmental services. Tourism is the main source of employment, particularly on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. Seychellois culture blends African, European and Asian influences, with Creole traditions, music, seafood and a relaxed island pace. Life includes beautiful beaches, hiking, diving and outdoor activities, although imported goods and accommodation can be expensive. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored Gainful Occupation Permit (GOP) before starting work; the employer generally handles the application and supporting documents. Confirm salary, housing, meals, transport, insurance and contract terms before relocating. A valid passport, medical clearance and police records may be required. Reliable budgeting is important, and accommodation provided by a resort can significantly reduce living costs.
