Destination Guide

Australia offers extensive hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events and visitor services, particularly in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Cairns and regional resort areas. Workplace culture is generally professional, practical and relatively informal, with strong expectations around punctuality, safety, teamwork and respectful communication. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed coastal communities, with outdoor activities, beaches, national parks and sporting events widely accessible. Most overseas workers need an appropriate visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa, Working Holiday visa or skilled pathway; eligibility, age limits and occupation rules differ, so check the Australian Department of Home Affairs before accepting an offer. Brisbane has warm weather, public transport and a lower cost of living than Sydney, although rent can still be significant. Secure accommodation, tax-file arrangements, health cover and sufficient savings before relocating, and confirm whether salary includes superannuation, penalties or other benefits.
