Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest range of hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, and business opportunities. Hotel and restaurant jobs are widely available for experienced international candidates, especially in luxury service, culinary operations, housekeeping, and events. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international population; respect for local customs, modest public behaviour, and religious practices is important. Dubai offers modern transport, beaches, shopping, nightlife, and year-round sunshine, although summers are extremely hot. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, arrange medical checks, and may provide accommodation or allowances, transport, insurance, and flights. Employees should not work on a tourist visa and should confirm contract terms, accommodation, service charges, working hours, and relocation costs before travelling.
