Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago with strong hospitality opportunities across Java, Bali, Lombok, Sumatra, and destinations such as Sulawesi and the Moluccas. Java, including Bandung and Jakarta, offers hotel, restaurant, events, and corporate careers, while Bali and Lombok provide extensive resort and tourism employment. Indonesian culture values courtesy, community, modesty, and respectful communication; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly useful. Bandung offers a cooler climate, relatively affordable living, creative industries, cafés, and easy access to nature, although traffic can be heavy. International employees normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work and stay permits; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly assist with immigration documentation, but requirements and fees should be confirmed before arrival. Housing, transport, health insurance, and service-charge arrangements vary by employer. New arrivals should budget for a deposit, arrange reliable accommodation, and check local regulations before relocating.
