Bahrain is a compact Gulf island country with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, restaurants, retail, finance, construction, aviation and business services. Manama is the main commercial center, while resort areas such as Al Areen, Amwaj and the southern coast offer hotel and leisure employment. The culture blends Arab traditions with a large international expatriate community. Arabic is the official language, English is widely used at work, and Islam influences public customs, dress and holiday schedules. Lifestyle options include beaches, malls, cafés, museums, motorsport and water activities. Employers normally sponsor work visas and residence permits, arrange medical checks and may provide accommodation, meals, transport and health insurance. Before relocating, confirm the contract, benefits, probation terms and visa sponsorship. Living costs are moderate to high, especially for private housing, while public transport is limited, making employer transport or a car useful.
