Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in hospitality, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, regional resorts and remote tourism destinations. Chefs and experienced kitchen staff are regularly sought by hotels, restaurants, resorts and event venues. Australian workplace culture values punctuality, teamwork, safety, professionalism and clear communication, while everyday life offers a multicultural environment, beaches, outdoor activities and a generally high standard of living. Sydney can be expensive, especially for rent and transport. Depending on eligibility, overseas workers may consider a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or skilled migration pathway; requirements vary by nationality, age, occupation and experience. Secure the correct work rights before starting employment. Plan for accommodation, tax file registration, banking, health insurance and transport. Australia is geographically large, so relocation costs and travel between cities can be significant.
