Destination Guide

Indonesia offers hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, wellness, diving, resort management and travel-related jobs, especially in Bali, Jakarta, Lombok and other major destinations. Bali has a welcoming, community-oriented culture, strong Hindu traditions, ceremonies and a generally relaxed lifestyle. Living costs vary considerably; accommodation near resort areas can be expensive, while local food and transport are relatively affordable. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and the appropriate employment visa before beginning work. Employers commonly assist with immigration documentation, although applicants should confirm the visa type, contract, insurance and accommodation arrangements. Bali has good international connections, but traffic, humidity and seasonal tourism demand can affect daily life. Learning basic Indonesian, respecting local customs and dressing appropriately for religious sites will make relocation easier. Indonesia’s many islands offer excellent opportunities for travel, beaches, nature and cultural exploration.
