Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates, with Al Marjan Island located in Ras Al Khaimah. Hospitality offers many opportunities in resorts, hotels, restaurants, tourism, recreation and events, especially for candidates with international experience. UAE culture values respect, modesty, punctuality and family life; English is widely used in workplaces, while Arabic is the official language. Lifestyle options range from beaches and water sports to desert trips, shopping and modern dining, although summers are extremely hot. Employers normally sponsor an employment visa, work permit and residence process after a signed offer. A medical examination, Emirates ID and health insurance are generally required. Confirm accommodation, transport, gratuity, leave, working hours and probation terms before relocating. Bring attested documents where requested, budget for personal expenses, and check local laws regarding alcohol, public behaviour and photography. Ras Al Khaimah is generally quieter and less expensive than Dubai.
