Destination Guide

Spain’s islands, including Mallorca, Ibiza, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, offer many jobs in hotels, restaurants, housekeeping, tourism, wellness and maintenance. Work is often seasonal, with the busiest period from spring to autumn, although larger resorts recruit year-round. Island culture combines relaxed Mediterranean or Atlantic lifestyles, local festivals, outdoor activities and strong food traditions. Living costs can be high in popular destinations, especially for accommodation, so employer housing or shared accommodation is worth checking. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work with standard registration requirements. Non-EU applicants generally need a work permit arranged by an employer before starting work. Relocating candidates should prepare a passport, employment contract, Spanish tax and social-security registration, and suitable travel insurance. Although SO/ Sotogrande is on mainland Andalusia rather than an island, similar resort-hospitality opportunities are available throughout Spain’s islands.
