Destination Guide

Spain’s islands, including Mallorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Ibiza and Menorca, offer frequent opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, reception, housekeeping, events and tourism services. Work is often seasonal, with demand rising from spring through autumn, although larger resorts recruit year-round. Island culture combines Spanish traditions with strong international influences, outdoor living, beaches, festivals and relaxed social life. The lifestyle is attractive but housing can be expensive and limited in major tourist areas, so arranging accommodation before relocating is advisable. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa but must complete registration requirements. Non-EU nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate residence visa before starting employment. Spanish is important for daily life and many roles, while English and German are valuable in tourist destinations. Salaries may be lower than mainland cities, and transport, healthcare registration and tax arrangements should be researched before moving.
