Destination Guide

Bermuda offers employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, marine services, retail, finance, healthcare, construction, and professional services. Its culture blends British, African, Caribbean, Portuguese, and international influences, with strong traditions of music, food, sailing, and community events. Life is generally safe and relaxed, although accommodation and everyday expenses are high. Most residents travel by bus, ferry, bicycle, or scooter, and private cars are restricted. Overseas applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work permit, and employers generally must demonstrate that a suitable Bermudian or eligible resident is unavailable before hiring internationally. Work authorization must be arranged before employment begins. Candidates should confirm housing, transportation, contract terms, health insurance, taxes, and permit responsibilities with the employer. Bermuda’s climate is subtropical, with warm summers, mild winters, and occasional hurricanes.
