Destination Guide

Maldives resort jobs are commonly available in culinary, food and beverage, housekeeping, front office, engineering, spa, marine activities and guest services. Resort islands offer a structured lifestyle with staff accommodation, meals, uniforms and recreational facilities, but employees should expect remote living, tropical weather and limited access to cities or shopping. Maldivian culture is welcoming and influenced by Islamic traditions; modest dress and respectful behavior are important outside resort areas. English is widely used in tourism, alongside Dhivehi and many international languages. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and must not work on a tourist visa. The employer normally arranges entry approval, medical checks and permit processing, while the employee provides valid passport, certificates and other requested documents. Relocation usually involves international travel to Malé followed by a domestic flight or seaplane to the resort.
