Destination Guide

Spain’s islands, especially the Balearics and Canaries, offer many opportunities in hotels, restaurants, bars, resorts, events, housekeeping, wellness, and guest services. Tourism is the main employment driver, with seasonal recruitment increasing before summer. Island culture is relaxed and sociable, with strong local food traditions, festivals, beaches, and outdoor activities. Lifestyle can be enjoyable but housing and transport may be expensive or limited in popular areas. EU, EEA, and Swiss citizens can work with valid registration; non-EU nationals generally need a work visa or an approved internship, study, or training arrangement before starting. Relocating usually requires securing accommodation, arranging health cover, obtaining an NIE and, where applicable, a residence card. Spanish is valuable, while English and other European languages are widely requested in tourism. Note that Sotogrande itself is on mainland Spain, not an island.
