Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers a coastal lifestyle across seven emirates. Hospitality, tourism, events, aviation, retail, technology, construction and healthcare provide many job opportunities, especially in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah. The culture blends Islamic traditions with a highly international population; modest dress and respectful behaviour are expected in public and during religious occasions. Lifestyle options range from beaches, desert activities and shopping to restaurants, cultural attractions and outdoor adventures. Employers commonly sponsor work visas, residence permits and medical checks for overseas hires, although benefits vary by contract. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, annual leave and flight allowances. Ras Al Khaimah is generally quieter and less expensive than Dubai, with a relaxed resort atmosphere, mountains, beaches and growing tourism infrastructure.
