Finance Intern – Accounts receivable

Spain Islands SLS Barcelona Approximately €600–€1,000 gross per month, depending on internship agreement, working hours and eligibility for a training allowance*
Job Description

This internship supports the accounts receivable function at SLS Barcelona, including recording payments, reconciling accounts, preparing reports, following up outstanding balances and assisting with month-end processes. Candidates should be studying finance, accounting, business or a related subject, with an interest in hospitality finance. Basic knowledge of accounting principles and spreadsheets is expected; familiarity with hotel systems is helpful but not essential. The successful candidate should be organised, accurate, discreet and comfortable working with figures and deadlines. Good communication skills, a proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across departments are important. English is likely required, while Spanish or Catalan would be advantageous.

Company Info

SLS Barcelona is a luxury lifestyle hotel located in the Barcelona area and operated under the SLS brand, part of Ennismore, Accor’s creative hospitality collective. SLS properties combine upscale accommodation with distinctive restaurants, bars, entertainment and design-led guest experiences. The brand is known for an energetic, contemporary atmosphere and a strong focus on service, dining and social spaces. As part of the wider Accor network, the hotel benefits from international standards, training opportunities and access to a global hospitality organisation. Finance team members support the commercial and operational activities behind the hotel, including revenue collection, reporting, controls and supplier or guest account management. The workplace is likely to suit candidates interested in luxury hospitality, international teams and a fast-moving hotel environment.

Destination Guide

Spain’s islands offer varied hospitality opportunities, particularly in hotels, resorts, restaurants, finance, guest services, events and seasonal tourism. The Balearic Islands—Mallorca, Ibiza and Menorca—have strong summer demand, while the Canary Islands provide more year-round employment because of their mild climate. Island life is relaxed and outdoors-focused, with beaches, hiking, water sports and lively local festivals. Costs can be high in popular areas, especially for housing during peak season, so accommodation provided by an employer is valuable. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can work without a visa but must complete local registration requirements. Non-EU applicants generally need an appropriate work or internship visa arranged before arrival, and internships may require an educational agreement. Spanish is useful for daily life and career progression, while English is widely used in tourism. Barcelona, where SLS is located, is on mainland Spain rather than an island.
