Workplace culture is generally informal, practical and team-oriented, with emphasis on punctuality, safety, equality and good customer service. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed coastal or regional communities, though housing and transport can be expensive in major cities. International applicants need a visa with work rights, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another eligible temporary visa. Requirements depend on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation. Relocating usually involves arranging accommodation, tax-file registration, a bank account, health insurance and an Australian mobile number. Sydney has extensive public transport, but rental costs are high. Check official Australian Government immigration sources before accepting employment or making travel plans.
