Destination Guide

Qatar is a peninsula rather than an island, while Qetaifan Island North is a developing leisure destination in Lusail. Hospitality, tourism, retail, construction, aviation, healthcare, education, and technology provide major job opportunities, especially in Doha and Lusail. Qatar’s culture is strongly influenced by Islam and Arab traditions; modest dress, respectful behavior, and sensitivity during Ramadan are important. The lifestyle is modern and safe, with shopping malls, beaches, restaurants, museums, and desert activities, although summers are extremely hot. Most overseas employees require an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit, with medical checks and document attestation commonly involved. Employers often provide accommodation or an allowance, transport, health coverage, and annual leave, but conditions differ. Before relocating, confirm the written contract, recruitment fees, accommodation, working hours, airport transfer, and visa sponsorship. A passport valid for at least six months is normally recommended.
