Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers strong employment opportunities in hospitality, construction, retail, aviation, tourism and facilities management, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture combines Emirati traditions with a highly international population; respectful dress, punctuality and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Lifestyle options include beaches, shopping, dining, desert activities and modern public transport, although summer temperatures are extremely high. Most overseas employees require an employment visa and residence permit sponsored by their employer. The company normally arranges entry approval, medical testing, Emirates ID processing and work authorization, while contracts commonly include accommodation or an allowance, transport, medical insurance and annual leave. Applicants should verify salary, benefits, recruitment fees and contract terms before travelling. Dubai is relatively expensive, so housing and transport provisions should be carefully considered when planning relocation.
