Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, although Dubai includes coastal and man-made island destinations such as Palm Jumeirah. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, healthcare, technology, and finance offer strong employment opportunities, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture is modern and international while remaining rooted in Islamic traditions; modest dress and respectful public behaviour are expected. The lifestyle offers beaches, shopping, restaurants, desert activities, and excellent infrastructure, but summers are extremely hot. Most foreign employees need an employer-sponsored residence visa and work permit, with medical checks and identity registration normally arranged after arrival. Confirm contract benefits such as accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, annual leave, and return flights before relocating. Living costs can be high, especially for housing, so employer-provided accommodation is valuable.
