Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers coastal living, modern cities and strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, aviation, retail and business services. Ajman provides a quieter and generally more affordable lifestyle than Dubai, while nearby Dubai and Sharjah offer additional employment and entertainment options. UAE culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage and a large international community; respectful dress and behavior are expected in public places. The climate is hot for much of the year, with mild winters and excellent beaches. Employers normally sponsor a work visa, residence permit and medical checks after hiring; employees should not work on a tourist visa. Confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, probation terms and gratuity in the contract. Relocation is easiest with employer support, and a passport valid for at least six months is normally required.
